Sunflowers are delightful! They are happy! They are theatrical and expressive of joy! I’ve been photographing sunflowers for some time now. Any angle, any where you place the camera becomes a new harmonious composition. I love the contrast of color, form and texture.
Helianthus, is the genus to which the sunflower belongs. It is a combination of two words viz., Helios meaning sun and Anthos meaning flower.
The sunflower is named after its huge, fiery blooms, whose shape and image are often used to depict the sun. The most distinguishing feature of the sunflower is that its flowering head tracks the sun’s movement. This kind of phenomenon is known as heliotropism.

I made this for a girlfriend of mine. She loved sunflowers and I got this patterrn because i thought it was beautiful. She loved it so much that she asked me to make another one and add a pocket to fold it into. Now that was hard because she wanted the sunflower Motif and I had to make it square
